Update on coronavirus
Whilst the UK risk level of coronavirus has been increased from low to moderate, the risk to individuals has not changed at this stage and remains low. Events are therefore going ahead as planned, and it is business as usual for the venue. We continue to follow advice from the World Health Organisation and Public Health England, as well as that of local government. Staff, exhibitors and visitors are being encouraged to maintain good hand, respiratory and personal hygiene.
The NEC has:
- A well-coordinated emergency management system in place at all times
- An onsite Venue Operations Centre which serves as a base for representatives of our security team and West Midlands Police.
- At the NEC there is a robust daily cleaning schedule which includes monitoring of toilet facilities and all public and event space on a frequent basis – this will continue for all of our events.
Everyone should note that the main message from Public Health England is on personal hygiene, therefore staff, exhibitors and visitors are also being encouraged to maintain good hand, respiratory and personal hygiene by employing the ‘Catch It. Bin It. Kill It’ ethos. Additional signage and bottles of hand sanitiser have been introduced in toilets and our in-hall catering areas, to make it even easier for our customers to clean their hands. We have for this at the moment stocks until to the end of March, but will continue to monitor this as per PHE advice/guidance.
